Installing your eSIM

Your order page gives you one activation code in three interchangeable forms. They all install the same eSIM — pick whichever is easiest with the devices you have on hand.

Scan the QR code

Any eSIM phone

Open your order page on a laptop or a second phone, then scan it with the phone that will use the eSIM. A phone can't scan a code shown on its own screen — that's why the two methods below exist.

Tap the install link

iPhone, iOS 17.4+

Open your order page on the iPhone itself and tap "Install on this iPhone." iOS hands the code straight to the installer — no scanning, no typing. Older iPhones won't react to this link.

Type it in manually

Always works

Every phone lets you enter the eSIM details by hand. Your order page shows exactly the values your phone asks for, with a copy button next to each.

What the code is made of

An eSIM activation code isn't a password — it's an address plus a one-time ticket. Your phone connects to the address and redeems the ticket to download the plan.

An eSIM installs only once. If you delete it from your phone, the code can't be reused — so keep the plan installed until your trip is over.

Entering the code by hand

The path differs slightly by manufacturer, but the fields are always the same.

iPhone

  1. 1Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM
  2. 2Tap Use QR Code, then Enter Details Manually
  3. 3Paste the SM-DP+ Address into the first field
  4. 4Paste the Activation Code into the second field
  5. 5Leave "Confirmation Code" blank and tap Next
  6. 6Label the plan and set it as your data line

Android

  1. 1Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add eSIM
  2. 2Tap Need help? when the scanner opens
  3. 3Paste the full activation string (the LPA: line)
  4. 4Or use the separate SM-DP+ address and code fields
  5. 5Confirm the download and wait for install
  6. 6Turn on the line and enable Data Roaming

On Samsung the path is Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM. On Pixel it's Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Download a SIM instead. Install over WiFi before you leave — the profile download needs a connection, and validity only starts once the eSIM first connects at your destination.

Pro tips

Tip 01

Install before you fly

Set up your eSIM while you still have WiFi at home, then it's ready the moment you land.

Tip 02

Keep both SIMs active

Use your regular SIM for calls and texts. Set the eSIM as your data line abroad.

Tip 03

Enable data roaming

Don't forget this toggle on your eSIM line — it's required for it to work abroad.
